At the very top of that list are printed newspapers.
That's why I have stopped reading them entirely for a couple of years already. These are a surefire cause of depression and and even anxiety. The majority of the articles center around violent crime, corruption, murders or the latest scandal. They may as well give you a prescription for Prozac with every copy sold. On 24.com and iol I tend to ignore most of the articles where the titles seem negative I mainly stick to the sports & technology topics etc. Generally on the internet it is Tech, IT related, or Science orientated sites that I visit. And this forum of course!

Mail and Guardian is my preferred current events site.
I'm on a horticultural forum and that brings loads of balance as the community is so caring towards each other. It's the constant lust for information that is poisoning our minds. Distracting it from the things we are suppose to be doing - like running in a field with the rain pouring on us. Last edited by KirPlunk; 4th February 10 at 08:08 PM. |

I alternate between being a news junkie, and self-imposed news black-out periods.
In black out periods i glance at the headlines once every few days (news.google or newz.co.za).

Well I've been involved with online gaming for a while now and I can honestly say many of the people I come across are quite negative in their outlook. Far from being a release (shooting things up), it seems to antagonise moods.
