All my posts are useless. Except the facepalms. the rest is pointless as not worth the bytes it occupies. Just like this one. +1 post count to me

As for ClashedPumkin's post about bad people and being happy. I think there are only a few really bad people in the world. Rudolph is one of the people who didn't learn how to handle success and made a few mistakes along the way that led him on a slippery slope. I don't think he's happy where he is today after selling out to the big corporates and betraying his principles. I know I can't do anything more to resolve the situation so I can either sit around and mope all day or be happy. Happyness [sic] is what you make of it. You can't sit and wait for someone else to make you happy.

There is no lawsuit. MyBroadband sent a ridiculous legal threat trying to bully us. Clearly they can't have been all that serious since it's been over a month since their self-imposed "deadline" that they were going to "take action" on.

cross-post on the history follows:

on the subject of re-writing history, i came across this- http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=21636

Hi folks

I have been advised by various people that it will be advantageous to register MyADSL as a company. My initial reaction was not positive, but as I spoke to more people it became evident that it is the best route to follow. One of my main concerns was that it will results in additional work and money to run the site, but the positives seems to outweigh the negatives. I am currently in favour of this registration, but would obviously first like to get your approval before I progress with this issue. Here is a short summary of the positives and negatives:

Positives

* MyADSL will operate as an independent legal entity.
* The MyADSL assets will be owned by a company and not an individual
* MyADSL’s future will not be jeopardized by the non-involvement or death of an individual
* Registering MyADSL as a company will establish legal and public accountability
* Contracts will be entered into in the name of a company and not that of an individual
i think he forgot to mention:
* i will personally profit hugely

Negatives

* Additional finances to cover the running costs of a ‘company’
* Additional administrative workload

I think we are currently in a position to overcome the negatives (we are able to cover all the costs and handle the additional work), and therefore feel it is a good time to take a step to register as a company. We have also looked at a Section 21 company, but at this stage the additional overhead and limitations does not justify the small advantage of tax savings (we make a loss anyway). I can guarantee you that nothing will change regarding the site and our aims. It will place us in a much better legal position to launch campaigns and continue with what we are doing without the problem of legal action against a single individual.

Please give your views/feedback on this issue.

Regards,

RPM

Since I am not (and never was) interested in profiting from MyADSL, such offers will fall on deaf ears (and might just elicit an ‘unpublishable’ response). You guys will continue to govern this site’s future!

As some members suggested ‘selling out’ or even just softening our stance a little bit is out of the question. The advertising is used to fund MyADSL and has no influence on what we say or do. The reason why we have accepted Telkom’s booking is to remain objective and unbiased. It is dangerous to start singling out (‘blacklisting’) certain companies in our quest to improve Broadband. Currently Telkom is indeed a serious problem in improving broadband in South Africa, but things might change (I guess it is possible ). This is also closely related to getting a Telkom representative on the forum…

Having said this you guys will have to say what you want and do not want. How about a ‘trial period’ after which we will assess the feeling towards the forum representative and/or advertising?

Just to keep you informed regarding the advertising slot: Telkom has booked a slot and then sent through a few forms to be filled in. This is not the way we do things and some of these forms required what can be considered personal and private information. We told them that they ‘must be joking’ (Cara used a term like this) and either do it our way or go somewhere else… The saga continues.

Absolutely! What makes this place even tougher for companies that do not play open cards is that its members decide on our course of action…not easy to fool them all

Your feedback will be great and will govern our decision.

RPM

Unfortunately at this moment in time , of those companies that are able to legally supply the last mile , Telkom is about the best of them

Neotel = massive fail from a non business consumer pov.
Iburst = tiny bit better , but not much.
Telkom = the only one who is actively giving us better and better last mile solutions.

As far as my thoughts on the threat to sue , it seems to have gone as far as the Craighaven's community threats. Maybe stuff is going on in the background we know nothing about.

OT:
Oh bomber, your reverberation/echo/repetition of van zyl gets tiresome.

Please try understand this: there are multiple avenues of redress, craigavon residents are currently pursuing the most immediate and local of these. Should this fail, expect court action.

The Craigavon issue is a totally separate matter, not so?
This matter revolves around various claims made by Muller, et, al that respected members of BBLounge posted to Muller, et, al's forum, postings of a nature that exposed his lies and he retorted with a threat to sue.
